2019 was our first year exhibiting at The Game Fair at Hatfield House and what a weekend it was! Over 40 hours of hard work over the weekend in both scorching sun and in the windy rain made for great fun and lots of cheese selling!
Our stand was placed in the Weber Totally Food Avenue with over 200 other stands selling a great variety of food and drink, a food lover’s heaven! We were lucky to be surrounded by fab exhibitors who really made our Game Fair experience.
We took eight different cheeses with us over the weekend, the perfect cheese board combinations. The four cheddar styles we took were our popular Hereford Hop and Vintage Red Fox, as well as the deliciously creamy Mayfield and the best selling Smoked Godminster. We also took two blues, Shropshire Blue and Perl Las, which went down very well. Lastly we included two soft cheeses, Isle of Avalon and the most popular Baron Bigod. Customers could pick and choose their favourites to create their own personal cheeseboard selection.
We also tried something new, our ingenious cheese cones. These included wedges of cheese with a couple of biscuits and a dollop of chutney. We had three different varieties; Baron Bigod with Sourdough Crispbreads and Spiced Apricot and Cranberry, Hereford Hop with Water Biscuits and Bloody Mary Chutney and Shropshire Blue with Sourdough Crispbread and Hedgerow and Port. These were the perfect snack to enjoy whilst wandering around all the fabulous stalls around the site.
The Game Fair really is a great event that is well run and enormous fun. A wonderful turnout in all weathers and it was exciting to be a part of an event that celebrates all that the wonderful British countryside has to offer! We hope to be involved in the years to come.
